Albert J. Riccio Albert J Riccio was born on January 23, 1914, in Rye, New York, his father, Antonio, was 33 and his mother, Maria, was 31. In Rye his family lived at 127 Maple Avenue. Albert graduated from Rye High School in 1934 and from Middlebury College in 1938. He enlisted 12 Mar 1942, when he was 28 years old and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Rita Marie Riccio on December 5, 1943, in his hometown. They had one child during their marriage.
After the war, He made Wilmington his home for the last 50 years. He had over 34 years of service with the DuPont Co. in Edgemoor, when he retired in 1975.
During his retirement years, Albert was an active volunteer in golf and as a tutor for 10 years teaching basic reading and spelling skills to area students at schools and adults at senior centers, as well as many other community activities.
Albert's was well known in Wilmington for his prowess and volunteer work in golf. His golf career spanned 70 years, during which time he won countless state and regional trophies.
He was a charter member of the DuPont Country Club, and in 1995 he was honored by the Delaware State Golf Association, with an award recognizing his ''outstanding contributions and achievements in the promotion of the sport of golf.''
Albert was an Officer in the American Legion and the Delaware Golf Association. He was a member of Union Lodge No. 2 A.F. & A.M. of Middlebury, VT, for 63 years. He was a member of both Fraims and Sellers Senior Centers.
Albert J. Riccio Age 86, died at home on January 16, 2000.
At the time of his death he was survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rita; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Kenneth Under; grandchildren, Adam and Sarah, alfof Arlington, VA; his sisters, Ida Manqini and Mary Calo, both of Rye, NY; and he was a beloved uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, and 25 grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Leonard, Victor and Daniel and 1 sister, Josie.
